Description
Round bronze brooch used in pairs to hold up the Finnish peplos dress. Appelgren Type D, a late form where the interlaced animal-and-cross openwork motif has simplified into a svastika-like geometric pattern with drilled holes and 'pegs'. Original is from the famous grave 56 at Luistari cemetary, Finland.
