| Description |
Silver spade-shaped pendant ornamented in relief on both sides, upper part an animal head loop engaged with a plain silver ring.
Obverse: trezubets sign associated with Vladimir I ('the Great') Sviatoslavich, Great Prince of Rus' 978-1015AD.
Reverse: Thor's hammer, the shaft becoming the blade of a sword, terminating in quillions, grip and pommel.
Conjectured to be a princely authority to trade or collect tribute in the region. From Rozhdestvensky cemetary (near Perm, upper Volga-Kama basin) grave 37, a male judging by inventory, Finno-Ugrian burial rite.Dimensions Length (without ring) 5.1 cm, ring diameter 2 cm. Material/s Silver (.925) |
